Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) students, faculty, and staff work collectively with communities for a more just world. We promote learning spaces outside of the classroom that are vital for new knowledge production and socio-political change. Our courses and curriculum explore critiques of power and are grounded in community voice and vision. As we explore these engaged paradigms and practices, we are committed to building solidarity networks and creatively constructing new models of being together, of acting together across the university-community divide, and building our capacity to participate in our democracy in reflective, responsible and transformative ways.
