In an effort to make community engagement more accessible to UMass faculty, students and community partners, CESL is now offering funding for transportation.

This funding is available for students, faculty, and staff who need to transport students to a community-based site or to transport community members to campus. Designated service-learning or community engagement classes will be given priority to this funding, but anyone who is doing work in the community is eligible to apply.

Please fill out this form with requests for transportation funding. Once you have filled out the form, our office will review your proposal and get back to you as soon as possible.

CESL also offers a free bus for students hoping to go to Homework House of Holyoke on Wednesdays. The bus leaves at 2:30 p.m. from Haigis Mall and returns around 6:00 p.m. Please contact CESL advisor, Mary Bombardier, @email, if you would like to secure a seat on the bus.

We also work with community partners on the PVTA bus route. Schedules and routes can be found on the PVTA website or on the Transit app.
