Accelerated B.S. in Nursing student Jasleen Moran '26 is one of two people to be selected for the Emergency Nurses Association's (ENA) Emergency Nursing Diverse Voices Research Fellowship this year. The fellowship, in its fourth year, aims to increase diversity in ED research.
"Jasleen is bilingual in English and Spanish and is the first in her Puerto Rican family to enter the healthcare field," the ENA press release says, continuing, "She is eager to advance her skills in emergency nursing and contribute to high-acuity patient care through the ENDVR Fellowship."
Jasleen says the fellowship will be "a pivotal step in shaping both my nursing career and personal growth as a future nurse leader," adding that it will deepen her understanding of how research directly informs clinical care and policy as well as give her the tools and mentorship to continue developing her research skills. She hopes to then translate these skills into creating "real-world change," especially in areas like emergency care coordination and health equity.
"The opportunity to connect with nurse researchers, scholars, and innovators through this fellowship will also broaden my perspective and fuel my passion for advocacy, particularly for vulnerable populations. Long-term, I hope to be a nurse who not only delivers compassionate care at the bedside but also contributes to systemic change through research, policy, and leadership. This fellowship will serve as a foundation for that vision."
