Congratulations to Clinical Associate Professor Terrie Black and Associate Professor Kalpana Poudel Tandukar, who are among the cohort of 32 campus faculty members to be named STRIDE faculty fellows for the 2023-24 academic year. Dr. Black was selected as a STRIDE fellow in 2022-23 and has agreed to serve for a second year. The STRIDE (Strategies and Tactics for Recruiting to Improve Diversity and Excellence) Fellowship Program provides UMass Amherst faculty with the opportunity to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in faculty recruitment and retention.
The STRIDE Faculty Fellowship Program is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Office of Equity and Inclusion and complements other efforts to support faculty diversity.
STRIDE fellows attend training sessions, co-lead workshops, cultivate faculty members from their colleges/departments to become future STRIDE Faculty Fellows, and continue engagement with STRIDE or other recruitment initiatives beyond the fellowship year (e.g. as mentors, facilitators or advisory board members).
