About

“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a speech to the Medical Committee for Human Rights, 1966.

Launched in February 2024, the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing's Office for Equity and Inclusion (EMCON OEI) was created to support the social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of the college. The EMCON OEI is intended to build a more just, equitable future in alignment with national nursing organizations and university-wide equity and inclusion initiatives. Central to these efforts are equity in scholarly collaboration, curriculum revision, professional development, inclusive pedagogy, and epistemic plurality.
