Registering for UMass Amherst Courses
Community college graduates in the Joint Admissions and MassTransfer programs are encouraged to apply for admission and financial aid early. This will allow you to receive admission decisions and/or financial aid packages via priority processing.
When accepted for Fall, you may then sign up for the first advising and registration session in early June, which will give you access to fall courses ahead of all other new students. Given smaller numbers and a more condensed three-day registration period, all new students register together for Spring courses. UMCCC students are encouraged to sign up for the first advising and registration session.
Here's how to sign up for an advising and registration session:
Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA
Be sure to list UMass Amherst on your FAFSA form. Our school code is 002221.
Financial Aid deadline: March 1
After you have been accepted, pay your $500.00 nonrefundable enrollment fee. You may pay your enrollment fee online via credit card or electronic check. Be sure to also complete and return your enrollment form.
If you have received your financial aid award, determined that you will be able to attend UMass Amherst, but are not able to pay the $500.00 nonrefundable enrollment fee in time to attend the early advising and registration session, you may be able have that fee posted to your UMass Amherst bill. For more information, contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office at 413-545-0222 and ask to speak with a transfer counselor.
- After you have applied for admissions, UMass Amherst will email your Net ID and password to you. Use your Net ID and password to sign up for an advising and registration session.
