The author of nine novels, including National Book Award winner “The Underground Railroad,” will speak to an estimated 20,000 attendees gathered to witness the conferment of degrees to nearly 6,800 undergraduates.

Researchers at UMass Amherst have found that Indigenous populations bear the environmental and public health costs when native Indonesian forests are converted to oil palm plantations.

The 10th annual Food Science-Herrell’s Ice Cream & Bakery Ice Cream Product Development Competition, which is free and open to the public, is slated for 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, in room 125 of Furcolo Hall.
