The UMass Amherst Writing Center believes that everyone is a writer and all writers bring valuable literacy backgrounds to their writing. We seek to create a culture of writing across campus where all faculty, students, and staff respect past writing knowledge and extend it to new situations.
Winter 2023 Hours:
The UMass Writing Center will offer a limited schedule of synchronous, online writing support during the winter session from 10 am to 2 pm on the following days:
Jan. 10, 11, &12 (Tue, Wed, & Thu)
Jan. 17, 18, & 19 (Tue, Wed, & Thu)
Jan. 24, 25, & 26 (Tue, Wed, &Thu)
Jan. 31, Feb. 1, & 2 (Tue, Wed, & Thu)
Our one-on-one sessions with writers begin on the hour, and last 45 minutes. For Fall 2022, the Writing Center will offer both in-person and synchronous, online appointments.

Why was my face-to-face appointment moved online?
Due to space constraints at the Writing Center, face-to-face appointments may need to be moved online. Please follow the instructions provided in your confirmation email for accessing your online appointment.
