The UMass Amherst Writing Center believes that everyone is a writer and all writers bring valuable literacy backgrounds to their writing. We seek to create a culture of writing across campus where all faculty, students, and staff respect past writing knowledge and extend it to new situations.
The Writing Center opens on September 13.
Sunday: 2 pm - 6 pm
Monday: 10 am - 9 pm
Tuesday: 10 am - 9 pm
Wednesday: 10 am - 6 pm
Thursday: 10 am - 6 pm
Friday: 10 am - 2 pm
Our one-on-one sessions with writers begin on the hour, and last 45 minutes. For Fall 2021, the Writing Center will offer both in-person and online appointments.

Why was my face-to-face appointment moved online?
Due to space constraints at the Writing Center, face-to-face appointments may need to be moved online. Please follow the instructions provided in your confirmation email for accessing your online appointment.
