Brett is also a Break Housing residence hall. This means students who live here do not have to leave during Thanksgiving, Wintersession, and Spring breaks. Brett is barrier-free and accessible for disabled students.

Break Housing (9-month)
Brett is also a Break Housing residence hall. This means students who live here do not have to leave during Thanksgiving, Wintersession, and Spring breaks.
Defined Residential Community
The Disability Defined Residential Community is a community housed in Brett Hall centered on the experiences, needs, and community among Disabled students. All students who identify as Disabled across experiences and their allies are encouraged to apply; no registration or disclosure is required.

Brett is barrier-free and accessible for disabled students.

As part of the cluster with Brett Hall, Brooks Hall is a multi-year community, which is designed to provide sophomores, juniors, and seniors with enriching experiences, autonomy and self-discovery, continued learning and connections with a diverse group of UMass Amherst students. Brooks is also an alcohol free residence hall and home to a 24-hour quiet floor. Students and their guests may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages in this residence hall. The commitment of all residents to maintain an alcohol-free environment forms the basis of a respectful and encouraging community. Brooks is barrier-free and accessible for disabled students.

Break Housing (9-month)
Gorman will be the First-Year Break Housing Option. As a Break Housing Hall, Gorman has a large population of international students and Resident Assistants. Gorman is also adjacent to the International Programs Office (IPO). Students who specifically requested Break Housing accommodations will automatically be charged the Break Housing Rate. Students who did not specifically request Break Housing will be expected to vacate during Thanksgiving, Wintersession, and Spring Break periods. Gorman residents who wish to remain over break periods can contact Residential Life Student Services to make a request. Students who are approved will be billed the additional fee per semester break housing fee. Learn more about Housing Costs.
