🎉 Congratulations to PSE alumnus Matthew Tirrell ’77!
Professor Tirrell has been selected to receive the 2025 College of Natural Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award! The PSE community is extremely proud and looks forward to celebrating this honor with him at a recognition ceremony on November 14th at UMass Amherst. As Dean Fox shared:
“Over four decades in higher education, Dr. Tirrell has not only been a scientific pioneer in polymer and materials sciences, but also a visionary leader for the field. He has chartered new areas in molecular engineering and led multiple institutions to top national and global rankings. His contributions are unparalleled, and we are incredibly proud to call him an alumnus of our Polymer Science and Engineering program.”
