2010s

• Michael Clark '13 holds the distinction of being the youngest School Committee member in the history of Longmeadow, MA. Recently, he also earned another honor, being named Best Elected Official in The Republican and Mass Live.com Reader Raves
• Derek Khanna '11 was named one of the top 30 under 30 in Law and Policy by Forbes Magazine
• Nick Barton '13 is pursuing a Master's Degree in Political Management at the Graduate School of Political Management at the George Washington University. He is also working for the Semester in Washington-Politics program at GW. Nick is an alum of SIW-P, a program designed to bring students to GW to study applied politics for a semester, get an internship, live on campus at GW, and attend weekly networking events.
• Sara Crossman '10 has been working at a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the past 6 months reviewing information for export control and compliance
• Joshua Cutler '10 is has won a seat on the Pittsfield, MA School Committee.
• Georges Fischer '13 joined Montana Conservation Corps in order to learn more about environmental justice, pursue the AmeriCorps Education Award, and gain hands-on conservation work in a rural setting.
• Mike Fox '11 is currently an Executive Office Associate at Root Capital, an impact investing nonprofit that focuses on rural agricultural lending in Latin America and Africa. He will be attending Georgetown University this Fall for a Master of Science in Foreign Service.
• Dan Gigliotti '11 is working for the Office of Cultural Development in Pittsfield, MA, building and managing a new website for tourists and residents.
• Maxwell Glass '13 is currently pursuing a JD at Hofstra University's School of Law.
• Melissa James '10 is an AmeriCorp member and working to provide housing and immigration legal services to low income people through the MA Legal Assistance Self Sufficency Program.
• Caroline Koch '10 will attend the Brandeis Heller School Masters of Public Policy Program beginning Fall 2013.
• Lauren Levey '10  is currently an Account Executive for CW18 and MY24 Television. She works as a volunteer co-chair for the Stride and Glide event with IndependenceFirst and is the Head Ski Coach for University Lake High School and Holly Hill Ski Club.
• Laura Lichterman '13 is currently a student at St. Louis University School of Law
• Stephanie Marchese '10 is working as a Legislative Policy Analyst at the NJ Hospital Association, which is a not-for-profit trade organization committed to helping NJ hospitals and health systems provide quality, accessible, and affordable care to their communities.
• Thomas Messer'10 was recently deployed to Afghanistan, attached to a Provincial Reconstruction Team as a Infantry Platoon Leader.
• Colleen Morrissey '11 is pursuing a Master's of Public Policy at George Mason University.
• Patrick Nigro '13 is a corps member of City Year Greater Philadelphia. "We are an AmeriCorps program with a focus on improving attendance, behavior, and coursework in the Philadelphia Public Schools. We serve in schools across the city in the capacities - each person fulfills all three - of in-class tutors, after-school tutors, and after-school club directors," he says.
• Matthew Parent '10 graduated in 2012 with an MA in Politics from Catholic University and has recently begun his PhD in Political Science at the University of Connecticut. His research is focusing on contentious politics, substate violence, and transnational political relationships.
• Marc Perrone-Rinaldi '10 has recently started a job as a Personal Banker at Citizens Financial Group and has started his Law school applications.
• Matthew Restivo '13 is working as a litigation paralegal for Boies, Schiller, & Flexner LLP in New York City.
• Michael Salamone '04 went to graduate school at UC Berkeley to get a PhD in political science after graduation from UMass. He earned a doctorate in 2011 and is currently an assistant professor in the School of Politics, Philosophy, & Public Affairs at Washington State University.
• Samantha Schnoerr '11 has received the prestigious Peggy Browning Fellowship for public interest labor law.
• Liana Steir '11 Started working at a non-profit literacy organization, First Book. Steir worked in two other internships prior to this, and is pleased to continue to work in non-profit groups.
• Kirsten Swenson '10 works for for Schwartz MSL, a communications firm in Waltham, Mass.
• Jonathan Tabb '11 is working as the Manager at the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council in Washington,DC. He is also completing an MA in Security Studies at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service focusing on National Security Policy and has a forthcoming article on the IRA and the Good Friday Agreement in a publication by RAND.
• Justin Thompson '11 is working as a Legislative Director in the Massachusetts Legislature. During his vacation, he plans to work on election/re-election campaigns for Representative Diehl, Senator Brown and Mitt Romney.
• Patrick Tool '13 is an office manager for a small healthy living business. The job was secured a month after graduating. He says: "this is a terrific job to get straight out of college, especially considering the not-especially-great job market. Thanks UMass!"
• Rob Vanasse '10 is working  in the Department of Bank Supervision at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston as a Financial Analyst. He is also pursuing a Master of Finance degree part-time at Suffolk University.
• Evren Celik Wiltse '10 (Ph.D.) has accepted a tenure-track position at South Dakota State University.
• Arthur Xia '13 was recently awarded a prestigious Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Scholarship to participate in a Chinese language and culture studies fellowship at Shaanxi Normal University in China and to examine historic and contemporary sites related to modernization and economic development, including business management training with major global technology enterprises in the Xi'an High-Tech Industries Development Zone.

2000s

• Paul S. Adams '08 (Ph.D.), is Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Prior to this promotion, he was also awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award for 2010-2011 at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (UPG). He is currently the faculty advisor of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and the President-Elect of the chapter of Phi Kappa Phi at UPG. He also serves as the Vice President of the UPG Faculty Senate. Dr. Adams is an Affiliated Faculty Member and Member of the Regional Advisory Board for the European Union Center of Excellence and Center for European Studies at the University of Pittsburgh (Main Campus) in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Andrew Armstrong '01 is Bravo Company Commander for the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, USMC.
• Ryan Aubert '06 is working at a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) with the Ethics, Compliance and Oversight team a a paralegal. He is also pursuing his MBA at Endicott College.
• Nathan Barksdale '08 is finishing his law degree at UCLA. He is scheduled to graduate May 2011
• Nicole Baker '05 is an indivdiual giving officer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
• Farid Samir Benavides Vanegas '08 has been appointed Vice Minister for Crime and Restorative Justice in Columbia's Ministry of Justice.
• Asher Berman '06 is a graduate student at the Fletcher School at Tufts University and studying in Amman, Jordan as part of a Boren Fellowship. Berman was in Egypt during the recent revolution, and is developing a comic on the experience.
• Kevin Capetanelis '07 is pursuing a joint JD and LLM degree at University of New Hampshire School of Law.
• Greg Collins '09 worked as the research assistant to the Washington Post columnist and ABC News contributor George F. Will for two years and then entered an M.A./Ph.D. program in political theory and American politics at the Catholic University of America in fall 2012. He is also getting married October 2013 to Rochelle Gauvin '09, a history major.
• Jen Cormier '02 will graduate from Georgetown Law in May. While studying in D.C., she has interned for the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Children's Defense Fund, and the D.C. Public Defender's Office. Jen will move to Boston after graduation to practice labor and employment law with Ropes & Gray.
• Jenny DeFrancisco '07 is an associate attorney at Lemberg & Associates, a Connecticut-based consumer law firm.
• Linda Forman '07 is a policy advisor for Congressman Chris Murphy (D-CT) and recently announced her engagement to Linson Naval '03 (political science).
• James Gabello '05 recently graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and is currently working as a housing attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services in Pittsburgh, PA.
• Bryan Gervais '08 completed his Ph.D. in political science at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013 and has begun his first faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
• Andrés González '05 is the Supervisor and Pedagogical Coordinator of one of Brazil's most sucessful English Language schools in São Paulo. In the future, he would like to return to the US and work with international students.
• Michael S. Gove '01 has opened a solo practice in corporate and business law, estate planning, real estate matters and special education in Northampton MA.
• Edward Kammereer '03 recently started working as the Pre-Law Advisor for the University of Connecticut.
• Peter Kelly-Joseph '07 graduated from Tufts with a master's in environmental policy and planning. He was promoted to Environmental Manager at Tufts University in October 2012.
• Dan Koffman '07 graduated from University of Southern California Gould School of Law and was named General Counsel for Scudder Bay Capital in Waltham, MA.
• Jessica LaCroix Hall '01 is currently working as a Criminal Analyst at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Executive Office of Public Safety, and has been there for 11 years.
• Roger Lau '00 served as political director for Elizabeth Warren’s Senate campaign, and has been named her state director, running her offices in Boston and other Massachusetts locales. 
• Joanna Lee '00 is currently working at Cambridge Associates, an investment consulting firm in Singapore.
• Michelle-Kim Lee '03, was selected for inclusion in 2011 New England Rising Stars in the areas of Employment Litigation Defense and Employment & Labor Law. This recognition is published in the 2011 issue of Massachusetts Super Lawyers – Rising Stars Edition and includes only 2.5% of Massachusetts lawyers. Each year, Massachusetts lawyers are asked to nominate the best up-and-coming attorneys whom they have personally observed “in action.” Massachusetts Rising Stars are then evaluated and selected based on twelve indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.
• Chris Marcoux '08 has accepted a tenure-track position as assistant professor of political science at DePauw University. He will start Fall 2012.
• Tricia McCabe '06 graduated from Western New England Law School in 2009. She was admitted to the MA Bar in December 2009, and the CT Bar in April 2010. She is currently an associate attorney with Lyon & Fitzpatrick LLP in Holyoke, MA.
• Jason McGrath '07 recently completed a Masters Degree in Public Administration at Suffolk University and has been appointed as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.
• Patrick Meaney '09 is working as a Consultant in The Hartford's Complex Claims Group. He handles claims involving asbestos, environmental, construction defect and other toxic tort exposures.
• Michaella Morzuch '03 received a Master's of Public Policy at UMass Amherst in 2008 and has been working as a Health Research Analyst at Mathematica Policy Research in Cambridge, MA. She has worked on an evaluation of a payment system for rural hospitals, of state grantee efforts to build a coordinated system of services for children with autism, and of health infrastructure capacity building in the Mississippi Delta.
• Genna Nolan '09 graduated from New England School of Law in May 2012. She passed the New Jersey bar in July 2012 and has been working for Verizon at their corporate headquarters in NJ as a contract manager since February 2013.
• Brian Palmucci '00 is a 2004 graduate of New England School of Law and is currently serving as a member of the Quincy, MA City Council and as chair of the city council's Public Safety Committee.
• Pavel Payano '06 was unanimously appointed to the Lawrence, MA School Committee. In 2013, the Merrimack Valley's business magazine (MVB) chose Pavel Payano as one of 40 individuals of outstanding of young entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers at their third annual 40 Under 40 Awards.
• Luke Perry '07 has accepted a position as Associate Professor of Government at Utica College, New York. He will be a Fulbright Scholar in Vilnius University in Lithuania in Spring 2012.
• Taara Rangarajan '07 is serving as special assistant to US Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice. Prior to this position, Taara worked for President Obama in the White House as an Associate Director of Management and Administration.
• Keith Richard '09 is entering his third year of law school at New England Law | Boston. He interned at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency during summer 2013, and will intern with Judge William Young at the Federal District Court in Boston starting fall 2013.
• Michael Sances '06 is in his third year of a PhD program in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He expects to graduate May 2013.
• Robert Shepherd '07 graduated from Quinnipiac University with a dual JD (magna cum laude) and MBA. He has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, and has recently published Illegitimacy, Inefficiency, and Disrespect: A Call for Reforming the Causes of Action for Misuse of Legal Process. In June 2011, he passed the MA and CT bar exams. He has recently moved to Texas and started in a Senior Advisor position at Durbin Bennett Peterson - Tax Advisors LLP in Austin. His principal focus is on estate, gift, and income tax planning for high net worth individuals. In addition to being admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of Connecticut and before the US Tax Court, he has passed the final part of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant examination and is applying for licensure as a CPA.
• Morris Singer '06 recently founded ForensicMatch.com in Cambridge, MA. He previously served as a staff attorney at the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
• Elizabeth Sweeney '08 graduated from Western New England University School of Law in May 2011 and passed the MA Bar Exam in July 2011. She is currently working with criminal defense firms in Massachusetts.
• Tejasi Thatte '09 graduated in May 2013 from Northeastern University School of Law. During law school, I interned at the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of MA in the Anti-terrorism Unit, the D.C. Securities Bureau, the Air Force General Counsel's Office, and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. In the fall, I will start a position as an Assistant District Attorney for the Suffolk County DA's Office.
• Jerry Tomaszewicz, Jr '04 served from 2010-2012 as the Field Organizer and Executive Assistant to the Secretary-Treasurer/CEO of the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, AFL-CIO. In early 2012, he left the position to become the first full-time Volunteer Resources Coordinator of the San Diego LGBT Community Center and AIDS Walk San Diego, coordinating more than 1500 volunteers. The Center is the nation's second oldest LGBT community center, having celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2013.
• Peter Trovato '05 is founder of the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund, a non-profit organization that offers educational assistance grants to the children of fallen soldiers from Massachusetts. He was a receipient of a 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award from UMass Amherst
• Jaime Zagami '08 is Operations Associate at American Corporate Partners in NYC. The organization parterns post-9/11 veterans with business leaders in some of America's top corporations. Jaime is in charge of all New England memberships.

1990s

• Allen St. Pierre '89, executive director of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), is getting a lot of attention from elected officials in D.C now that several states have legalized marijuana for medical use.
• Danielle Hughes '91, founder and CEO of Divine Capital Markets LLC in NYC, discusses the volatile stock market, noting that complacency is a killer: "Stay the course and keep your focus on the long term," she advises. Watch the full discussion here.
• Daniel Rivera '96 is the new mayor of Lawrence, MA.
•  Richard A. Almeida '95 has been awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Francis Marion University, Florence, SC.
• David Bodah '94 recently received his Certified Fundraising Executive CFRE certificate (2009) and is currently Senior Director of Development for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence, RI.
• Maydad Cohen '97 In January 2013, Maydad joined Governor Deval Patrick's senior team as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Cabinet Affairs.
• Christopher Coleman '94 is working in the financial services industry as Senior Vice President of Asset Manager Sector Solutions for State Street in Boston, MA.
• Edward Denmark '90 is a Doctoral Candidate, ABD, in the Leadership Studies Program at Franklin Pierce University. He is also serving as Chief of Police for the Harvard, MA Police Dept.  and as Co-Sponsor of Next Generation Leadership Summit at Fitchburg State University. He is a member of the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program. US Dept. of State through which he has trained personnel in Niger and is scheduled to conduct training in Morocco and Philippines. 
• Timothy Dooling '95 joined the Massachusetts Department of Career Services as General Counsel & Deputy Director in January 2013. Prior to that, he spent four years at the Massachusetts Parole Board, most recently as General Counsel.
• Benjamin Gaumond '99 began working in the Elko County Public Defender in Elko, Nevada in March 2013
• Bart Gobeil '94 was just named Chief Operating Officer of the state of Georgia by Governor Deal.
• Lara Herscovitch '91 has released a new CD, "Four Wise Monkeys." Her policy and social worker background, is often reflected in her music.
• Sean Kay '97 (PhD) is the Robson Professor of Politics and Government at Ohio Wesleyan University where he also is Chair of the International Studies Program. He is Mershon Associate at the Mershon Center for International Security Studies at the Ohio State University and a Non-Resident Fellow in Foreign Policy and Defense Policy at the Eisenhower Institute in Washington. After leaving UMASS with the PhD, Sean spent a year working in the US Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. and then took a one year position as visiting professor at Dartmouth College. He has been at Ohio Wesleyan University since 1999. Kay has published six books including three single authored texts, NATO and the Future of European Security, Global Security in the Twenty-first Century: The Quest for Power and the Search for Peace, and Celtic Revival: The Rise, Fall, and Renewal of Global Ireland.
• Janet (Rubinstein) Keller '91 was recently installed as the Brandeis Association Corresponding Secretary. She was also awarded a Division Chief Award for superior legal accomplishment at the New York City Law Department where she currently serves as Senior Counsel. 
• Krista Kellogg '96 was recently named Chair-Elect of National Psoriasis Foundation Board of Trustees. She also serves as a Guest Blogger on WebMD (October 2011).
• Stacy Malone, Esq '94 is the Executive Director of the Victim Rights Law Center--the first nonprofit in the nation to provide legal services to rape and sexual assault victims. In April 2013, Stacy accepted the Access to Justice Award for the VRLC from the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance at a ceremony at the State House.
• Eric Morrell '94 has been practicing law at his own New Brunswick, NJ firm for more than a decade. His private practice specializes in criminal law and serves the entire state of NJ -- and they recently welcomed another UMass alum as a paralegal! Eric is married to fellow UMass alum Kim Nathan. The two have two children, a 5 year old son and a 1 and a half year old daughter.  
• David Narkewicz '90 was elected Mayor of Northampton, MA after having served as acting mayor. 
• Lisa O'Brien '90 is happily ensconced in motherhood after a career in public affairs spanning the executive branch (President George H. W. Bush) and state government (Governor William F. Weld, Governor George E. Pataki), directing communications for a national charter school management organization, and founding the New York Charter Schools Association. Lisa and her husband Daniel have six great children, and she is training to teach hot warrior yoga.
• Mindy Peden '97 is an Associate Professor of Political Science at John Carroll University. Since 2009, she has also been serving as Associate Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences.
• William C. Ramsey '97 has been appointed Chief Administrative Law Judge at ODAR, Boston. Prior to this appointment, Judge Ramsey served as an Assistant Chief Counsel for the US Department of Homeland Security.
• Dan Rivera '96 is an At Large City Councilor in the City of Lawrence, MA and Chairman of the Budget & Finance Committee.
• Erin (Moran) Shapiro  '94 , a partner with the Boston Law firm of Atwood & Cherny, was included in the publication:"The Best Lawyers in America, 2013" in the field of Family Law.
• Kerry Terrel '97 is Director of MBA admissions for the full-time MBA program at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business.
• Evan Whitney '95 is celebrating 17 years of working in the Office of Public Affairs & Communications for Harvard University. He received a Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) from Harvard in 2011 with a concentration in Government. He is currently living with his wife and daughter in Arlington, MA and still makes it out to Amherst from time-to-time, especially to hit up Antonio's!

1980s

• Dwayne D. Warren '88 was elected Mayor of the City of Orange, New Jersey in July 2012. Orange has a population of about 35,000 with a budget of over 65 million dollars. Warren manages a workforce of over 300 employees. Recently, he was appointed to the Chairmanship of the powerful Housing and Economic Development Committee of the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association
• William Bennett  '87, senior development officer at Wellesley College, will receive the CASE District I Quarter Century Circle Award at the annual CASE District I Conference held at the Westin Copley Place, Boston, MA on January 30, 2013. The Quarter Century Circle honors those who have completed 25 years of service for non-profit organizations in the professions encompassed by CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education). 
• Beverly (Prescott) Cannone '82 has been a public defender with the Committee for Public Counsel Services for 24 years. During her tenure, she has been honored to recieve the Mass Bar Association's Access to Justice Defender of the Year award and the CPCS Duggan award and was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers, where she is currently a fellow. In 2009, Gov. Deval Patrick appointed her to the Quincy District Court.
• Linda Chen '88G is professor of political science at Indiana University South Bend. She has recently moved into academic administration and is also Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
• Crystal Davis ’89 is helping to bring the DEKA Arm to upper limb amputees. "As a research health scientist at the Providence Veterans Administration Medical Center in Rhode Island," she writes, "I am proud to share this link describing the DEKA Arm and what it means to our nation's soldiers."
• Thomas Flayhan '89 is regional manager for Triumph Motorcycles (America).
• Stephen Harvey '82 has been appointed president of the board of directors of the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP), effective January 1, 2013. The HAP board of directors oversees the operations of this award-winning legal services organization. With a legal staff of 8 and a corps of over 350 volunteer lawyers, paralegals and law students, HAP provides legal services to homeless families and single people in Philadelphia.
• Larry Kocot '82 is deputy director of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform and a visiting fellow in the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution. He was a 2011 recipient of a UMass Distinguished Alumni Award.
• Duncan MacKay '84 was appointed Deputy General Counsel of Northeast Utilities (NU) following its spring 2012 merger with NSTAR.  As Deputy General Counsel, Duncan is responsible for the team of lawyers in the company's legal department who practice in the regulatory, dispute resolution and litigation, and labor and employment areas. Duncan is a 1984 graduate of UMass with a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies and former UMass Mediation Project intern.
• William Martel '81 has published Victory in War: Foundations of Modern Strategy (Cambridge University Press) which explores the development of a theoretical narrative or language of victory to help scholars and policymakers define carefully and precisely what they mean by victory in war.
• Barnaby Page '89 received his Juris Doctor in May 2011 from the Charleston School of Law.
• Mark Papirio '81 has practiced child welfare law at the trial and appellate levels for the past twenty years. Recently he argued successfully before the MA Supreme Judicial Court.
• W. Greg Rothman '89 Governor Tom Corbett appointed Greg to the State Real Estate Commission, the chief regulatory body governing the real estate industry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Rothman was elected Secretary by the Commissioners, and he chairs the Education Committee.
• Klyde Seigfriedt '80 is president of the Washington DC UMass Alumni Association. 
• Dwayne Warren '88 served as judicial clerk, Assistant Essex County, NJ Prosecutor, Law Firm Partner, Municipal Court Judge and on May 8, 2012 was elected the Mayor of Orange NJ. Mayor Warren's legal career has focus on representing local government bodies in New Jersey. He and his wife Dr. Karma Warren have two children.
• Eric Weinstein '88 is a sole practitioner with his own law office in Framingham, Massachusetts. An interview with himwas featured on the Pre-Law Advising blog in December.
• Bruce Weissgold '89 continues to work at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Arlington, VA, focused on international policy negotiations supporting the implementation and enforcement of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Recently Bruce has been working on the implementation of President's Obama's Executive Order to combat poaching and wildlife trafficking. Bruce is married to Nanci (Berger) Weissgold, BA Economics (1989) and they have two daughters, Sydni and Samantha.
• Marwan Zubi '88,  an attorney with Nicolai Law Group, P.C., in Springfield, MA, was named by U.S. News and World Report as one of the Best Lawyers in America for 2013 in labor and employment litigation.

1970s

• Peter Chisholm '72 is Director of Government Relations at Framingham State University and senior associate with the Victory Group.
• Robert Colosi '71  has retired after 20 years on the Maricopa County Superior Court bench in Phoenix, Arizona. He now works part time as a pro tem Judge for the Phoenix & Mesa Municipal Courts. He lives with his significant other in Phoenix and enjoys,traveling, gardening, trying new and different experiences, including being lazy. "Retirement is 'highly underrated,'" he says.
• Stephen Gerritson '74: After graduation, Stephen received an MPA from Princeton. He is currently Vice President of the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County.
• C. Vernon Gray  '71 is an Administrator of the Office of Human Rights in Howard County, Maryland. He is also a retired Professor of Political Science in Morgan State University in Baltimore.
• Gerard S. Gryski '76 (Ph.D.) has been named the Curtis O. Liles Professor of Political Science at Auburn University.
• Robert A. Hall '72 is a former Marine and Vietnam Veteran. He served five terms in the Massachusetts State Senate, and has worked since 1982 in a sucessful nonprofit. He has also just released a new book, The Coming Collapse of the American Republic: And what you can do to prevent it, his fourth book.
• Russell Finer '73 is Executive Director of Congregation Beth Ahabah in Richmond, VA
• Joel Fox '71 has worked for over 30 years on multiple issues in California, including being in multiple advisory positions and leadership roles in different campaigns, such as Governor Schwarzenegger's campaign in 2003, as well as McCain's Presidential run in 2000. He currently is an advocate for small businesses, and has published a book, Lincoln's Hand, all while being an Adjunct Professor of Public Policy at Pepperdine University.
• Mark L. Mawrence '74 is a partner at DMG, Inc. As a consultant, writer, producer and fund-raiser, he has lectured and worked extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the United States. His work has focused on predicting future trends in business, politics and communications, sales and marketing strategies and on issues relating to "Socially Responsible Corporate Practices."  Mr. Mawrence is the founder of Change, Inc., a company that has performed corporate work with Chinese Television, Harper & Row, Bell Atlantic, The Nobel Foundation, Scandinavian Airlines, SONY and Volvo. He has served for five years on the Board of Directors of The Bayside District Corporation, which manages the newly re-vitalized and award-winning downtown district "Third Street Promenade" in Santa Monica, California where he created and implemented the critically acclaimed "Dolphin Change" project for the homeless. He serves on several boards, including The Fund For Peace, in Washington D.C., and "For The Arts", an endowment fund for supporting arts education in the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District. In addition, Mr. Mawrence has won awards for filmmaking, most notably the CINE Golden Eagle in 1986 for his work producing "The Art of Patrick Nagel," for Harper & Row Publishing.
• Robert Moro '73, a former president of DSS Social Worker's Union and Northbridge Teachers Association and 38-year social worker, is set to retire from Ashland Public Schools. He is additionally working as a Court Investigator for the Worcester County Juvenile Court.
• John O'Hara ’74, a managing director and senior advisor with Rockefeller Financial in New York, is on the board of trustees of the National Humanities Center.
• Janet St. Laurent '77 is a managing director of the Government Accountability Office's defense capabilities and management team. She investigates, reports and testifies on defense spending on behalf of Congress. She is a finalist for a Sammy Award (Service to America Medal).

1960s

• Richard Meegan '66 retired from his career in secondary teaching and administration in public education in 2008. He is now teaching full time again at the college level and enjoying it. From 2003–12 he had the opportunity to be a guest lecturer in clinical psychology at UMass Amherst. His UMass education has been an outstanding bonus to his career due to the problem solving approaches that were a part of so many of his courses. Both of his daughters are UMass Amherst grads, and they too found in their careers how powerful the education was that they received at UMass.
• Thomas Byron '69 is the managing Partner of a small litigation law firm, Byron & Edwards, APC, that he founded in 2004, after working as a Partner in a larger San Diego law firm. He specializes in defense of design professional malpractice claims and general litigation defense. He has been a trial layer for 33 years as of December 2013 and still loves trying lawsuits. "I have no plans to retire, ever!," he says.
• Joseph Knych '62 worked for 37 years in service for the State of New York, retiring in 2000. Since then, he and his wife have had the opportunity to see several European countries, including France, Italy and Greece. The latest trip included Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany. "Most of these countries were under the Iron Curtain and it was most gratifying to see the progress these countries have made in rebuilding and modernization, yet retained the pomp that characterized their past. Warsaw, Krakow Budapest, Viena, Prague and Berlin are wonderful places to visit," he says.
• Fred Lazin '66 is a visiting Scholar at the Taub Center for Israel Studies at NYU. He recently became Prof. Emeritus at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva Israel. He retired as Full Professor with an endowed chair in the Department of Politics & Government. Over the past two years he has been teaching in the Israel Studies Program at AMerican University in Washington DC.
• Robert Malloy '69 is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Resourcesforhistoryteachers.wikispaces.com, a history/political science wikispace edited by Malloy at won a 2010 WEBBIE award from the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators organization.
• Gerald McAvoy '66 is a Retired Attorney from Mass and RI and now now lobbying for AARP at the RI State House.

• Roy Sundstrom '56 retired as an Emeritus Professor of History from Humboldt State University and is now living in Sacramento, CA

1940s

• Samuel Glass '48 returned to campus in December to re-enact a game of ping pong in the Lewis Hall basement. Sam and classmate Sidney Topol were playing ping pong on Dec. 7, 1941 when they heard FDR declare war on Japan.
