The American Heart Association awarded Dr. Terrie Black with the "Outstanding Leadership" award during this year's conference.

Terrie Black ’15 DNP, MBA, CRRN, FAHA, FAAN, received the American Heart Association’s Outstanding Leadership Award in recognition of her leadership, dedication, and commitment to the Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing (CVSN) Council. Black received the award as she concluded a two‑year term as chair of the CVSN Council. The CVSN Council is one of 16 councils within the AHA; its membership includes clinical nurses and nurse scientists who promote cardiovascular health, quality of life, and heart‑healthy lifestyles and environments.

The award was presented during Scientific Sessions—one of the AHA’s preeminent scientific conferences—on November 11, 2023, in Philadelphia. The meeting drew more than 13,000 attendees from around the world.
