The American Heart Association awarded Dr. Terrie Black with the "Outstanding Leadership" award during this year's conference.

Dr. Terrie Black was the recipient of an award presented by the American Heart Association (AHA) for her leadership, dedication and commitment to AHA, specifically to the Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing (CVSN) Council. Dr. Black received the “Outstanding Leadership” award as she concluded a 2-year term as Chairperson for the CVSN Council. The CVSN council is one of 16 Councils within the AHA composed of nurses committed to promoting cardiovascular health, quality of life and heart healthy lifestyles and environments. Nurse members of the Council represent clinical nurses as well as nurse scientists. 

The award was presented during Scientific Sessions, one of the largest AHA events, on November 11, 2023 in Philadelphia, PA. The event drew over 13,000 attendees from all over the world and is one of the pre-eminent scientific conferences convened by AHA.
