Assistant Professor Jeannine Blake, Ph.D., RN has received the 2025 Young Professional's Award from the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. She will be honored at the 2025 AAMI eXchange in New Orleans later this month.
Professor Blake has a clinical background in surgical intensive care and a passion for advancing healthcare innovation through interdisciplinary nurse-engineer collaboration with the Elaine Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation. Her research focuses on improving the accuracy, flow consistency, and usability of intravenous (IV) pumps, with a special interest in alarm management and its impact on nursing time and patient experience.

Professor Blake earned her Ph.D. in nursing science and completed a postdoctoral program in mechanical and industrial engineering at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Beyond academia, she advises hospitals on infusion technology, nursing workflows, and patient safety.
