Undergraduate Advising
During your New Student Orientation, you will attend advising sessions to help you get off to a successful start at the University. You will learn about the student information system (SPIRE), how to register for classes, and how to take advantage of the many helpful resources offered by UMass Amherst.
Nursing students continue to meet with a designated advisor (either in person or remotely) each semester before registering for courses. The advisor will discuss your upcoming classes and help guide you through the process of meeting the requirements of your degree.
You may set up additional appointments during the academic year with your academic advisor via phone or email.
It is important to review an Academic Requirements Report (a critical advising tool) in SPIRE and to be prepared to discuss the report with the academic advisor during your advising sessions.
