Four EMCON Seedworks Scholars

Undergraduate and graduate students at the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing participate in organizations that enhance their educational experience, allow them to serve others, and help to build their professional networks.

ALANA

ALANA (African Latin Asian Native American Association) is a club that celebrates diversity within the College of Nursing and creates safe spaces for underrepresented minorities to connect and mobilize resources. They do this by fostering an inclusive community, facilitating events to create meaningful connections that allow members to cultivate a supportive environment where everyone can thrive academically and professionally. Through ALANA's efforts, the group aims to empower individuals to become leaders in promoting diversity and inclusion within the field of nursing and beyond. Stay connected on Instagram.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma)

The Elaine Marieb College of Nursing is a member of the Sigma Beta Zeta At-Large Chapter, which includes American International College, Elms College, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Westfield State University. Sigma Beta Thau International was founded in 1922 and now has over 135,000 active members in 530 chapters in over 90 countries around the world.  Being part of this organization offers nursing students opportunities to develop scholarship, build leadership skills and network with nurses all around the world.

Student Nurses Association (SNA)

The UMass Amherst Student Nurses Association (SNA) is part of the national SNA. UMass SNA members have the opportunity to attend the annual national SNA Convention, where they network with other student nurses and veteran nurses, learn about graduate nursing programs, new technologies and skills that will help them succeed in their nursing careers.

UMass Amherst Medical Reserve Corps

UMass Amherst Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer group that prepares and assists the community and campus for times of emergencies. Nursing students may join the UMass Amherst MRC as volunteers and train to be emergency responders.
