About
Dr. Sheila Pennell is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Marieb College of Nursing and practices as an RN in Hospice care.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she additionally served on campus as the Nurse Manager for the Mullins Center COVID-19 community testing site and assisted the Public Health Promotion Center with the public health and vaccination efforts. During this unusual time, she engaged in evaluation of the PHPC programs and explored their impacts on student mental health with colleagues from the School of Public Health and Health Sciences through qualitative inquiry.
Post-pandemic, Dr. Pennell has been re-focusing on her teaching practice and deepening her commitment to service learning through a fellowship with the UMass Community Engagement and Service Learning Department (23-24).
