About

Dr. Cidalia J. Vital's research centers on enhancing the quality and safety of patient care while also prioritizing the well-being of nursing staff. She explores various factors—both human and environmental—that impact healthcare delivery.

Dr. Vital's background lies in simulation-based research, specifically focused on evaluating the nursing work environment. Her ultimate goal is to engage in practice-informed clinical research that directly benefits patient outcomes. As she actively builds her own research program, Dr. Vital collaborates closely with frontline staff nurses. Together, they work to nurture their development as nurse researchers.

Additionally, Dr. Vital seeks out external partnerships and collaborations beyond Baystate Health. Notably, Dr. Vital is involved with the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing and the Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation. These collaborative efforts allow for collectively achieving research goals and contributing to advancements in nursing practice.
