Internship Spotlight: Grace Gill
Content
Meet Grace Gill, a rising senior pursuing a master's in Public Health. This summer, Grace interned at Mother's Milk Bank Northeast while living on the Mount Ida Campus.
On campus, Grace was a jack of all trades -- Resident Assistant, TA, staff in the rec center and advisory board member -- but still had time for an internship!
"I was in the lab, doing analysis work at the Milk Bank," Grace said. She got hands-on with milk analysis, making sure everything was on point. But it wasn't all lab coats and serious stuff. "I also dabbled in management in the second half. It was perfect for me – exploring non-profits and maternal health."
Her typical day started with team meetings and assignments, mostly lab-related. "I checked out donated milk, making sure everything was up to snuff." She also tackled some new software – Sortly, Excel, and FileMaker.
Living at Mount Ida was a game-changer, thanks to the transportation options. "No car? No worries," she said. And being close to Boston allowed Grace to go on many adventures. "I explored way more than I thought I would," she said. "Jump into those weekend trips – they're free and so worth it!"
The best part? "Meeting new people here at Mount Ida."
Grace's summer was a mix of lab discoveries, city adventures, and tight campus connections.
Keep shining, Grace!
