Campus Comprehensive:
PBS LEAD at Mount Ida
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences (PBS) Linking Employment to Academic Development (LEAD) program is designed to enrich the training of PBS majors. Students in the program will spend a semester working at exciting locations in Greater Boston and complete courses on the Mount Ida Campus relevant to the psychology major.
CESL LEAD at Mount Ida
UMass Civic Engagement and Service-Learning (CESL) promotes earning for lifelong, democratic engagement, partnering with communities on and off campus to work collectively for a more just society. Linking Employment to Academic Development (LEAD) programs prepare students for careers by combining semester-long internships with coursework. Launching Fall 2024, the program will include a CESL Foundations Course (SBDU Gen-Ed), a 6-credit internship with a non-profit employer in Greater Boston, and the opportunity to take online courses at no additional cost.

SBS in Boston
A credited internship program, SBS in Boston provides an exciting opportunity for SBS majors to spend the semester living and interning in the greater Boston area. Internship opportunities span a variety of industries and functions, and are in various locales around the metro area. Some internships are at companies and organizations where alumni work and are available to offer mentoring. Build your skills, explore your options, make connections, and gain experience in the professional world! Participants will receive a full semester’s worth of credits, and financial aid will apply.
SPHHS Mount Ida Internships
An internship or co-op in the Boston area provides so much more than just professional experience. There’s also the experience of city living, filled with action, excitement, and opportunities. As a UMass student, living on the Mount Ida Campus gets you a great rate on housing, as well as transportation to the MBTA Green Line, access to our complementary fitness center, fun activities, and even free parking!
