New publication: Frances Ellen Watkins (Harper)’s Forest Leaves (ca. 1846) as the latest installment of Just Teach One: Early African American Print on Common-Place: The Journal of Early American Life. The poems are edited with an introduction by Alex W. Black, Brigitte Fielder, and Johanna Ortner, Ph.D. candidate in Afro-American Studies at UMass Amherst, and encoded by students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The site includes both TEI-encoded XML as well as a PDF for your use in the classroom and beyond.
