Hampden Gallery Showcases Student Artwork on Window Video Projections
Students in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts class, Moving Image, will showcase their artwork through window video projections, visible to passersby, at the Fine Arts Center’s Hampden Gallery at 131 Southwest Circle starting on the evenings of April 16 through May 2.
An opening reception and panel discussion will be held with the students on Wednesday, April 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the gallery, which will display the project after hours on weekdays from 5-10 p.m.
Throughout the semester, the students learned through Associate Professor and Department of Art Chair Jenny Vogel about digital video within the context of contemporary art practices and created their own experimental digital video projects as part of Hampden Gallery’s Open-Air Projection to Initiate Conversation (OPTIC) after-hours program, which provides the public with a chance to engage with art in a safe, outdoor setting.
