Developing an intervention for the sleep quality of older end-of-life caregivers with multiple chronic conditions
About
Dr Hyeyoung Park, Assistant Professor in the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing, has been awarded a Mi Ja Kim Research Grant by the Global Korean Nursing Foundation to study the sleep quality of older end-of-life caregivers with multiple chronic conditions.
Older end-of-life caregivers with multiple chronic conditions constitute a unique group who are both caregivers and care recipients. They are at a greater risk of sleep disturbance due to extensive caregiving work, psychological distress, and caregiving burdens. Poor sleep can cause various health problems to these caregivers. This project aims to develop a nurse-led intervention for older end-of-life caregivers with multiple chronic conditions to improve their sleep quality and taking into account their unique context and healthcare needs.
