Associate Dean for Research and Professor Emerita Cynthia Jacelon, PhD, RN-BC, CRRN, FGSA, FAAN, is representing the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing this week at the  5th International Conference on Prevention and Management of Chronic Conditions,  hosted by Ramathibodi School of Nursing at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. The theme of the conference is "Nursing Innovation in the Next Era."

EMCON is among sixteen prestigious schools of nursing from around the world represented at the conference, including the nursing schools at the University of Sydney in Australia, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Singapore, the University of Washington, the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Illinois Chicago, Columbia University, the University of Minnesota, and others.

Dr. Jacelon is a member of a panel discussing "Reframing Palliative Care to Improve Quality of Life of People with Chronic Illness". The other members of the panel are Dr. Ashley Leak Bryant from the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Associate Professor Dr. Suchira Chaivibmoontham from the Ramathibodi School of Nursing; the moderator is  Dr.Aporacha Lumdubwong of Ramathibodi School of Nursing. 

In addition to speaking at the conference, Jacelon has had opportunities to forge relationships with faculty at the Ramathibodi University School of Nursing, to encourage faculty to apply to the EMCON PhD program, and to explore possible opportunities for student and faculty exchanges and future research collaborations.
