Dr. Gabrielle Abelard is among 14 faculty "emerging leaders" selected for funding by the UMass Amherst provost and chancellor to attend transformational leadership programs. Dr. Abelard will attend the HERS Leadership Institute (HERS) this summer. HERS, which stands for "Higher Education Resource Services," is a leadership development program for higher education faculty, staff and administrators who hold mid-to-senior level positions and have a desire to emerge as more dynamic leaders for themselves and their institutions. Since 1995, over 100 UMass faculty and staff leaders have participated in this particular institute.
