Baystate Midwifery Education Program

The Baystate Midwifery Education Program is a post-baccalaureate graduate-level program leading to a Certificate in Midwifery. The hybrid program is an autonomous five-semester, post-baccalaureate, in-person certificate midwifery education program with the option to obtain a concurrent 100% online master’s degree through the University of Massachusetts Amherst. For those entering the Midwifery Program without a graduate degree, concurrent master’s degree acquisition is mandated.

For students who need a more decompressed course of study, an eight-semester part-time option is also available. The University of Massachusetts Elaine Marieb College of Nursing offers a flexible schedule of the concurrent master’s degree courses during the longer course of the midwifery program.

Admissions decisions are made by the faculty of the Baystate Medical Center Midwifery Education Program first. Once students have been admitted to Bay State to their Certificate Program, they may apply to EMCON via Slate. The Midwifery Program reserves two admissions per year for qualified applicants who graduate or alumni of the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing.
