- Microbiology 255 (4 cr): With lab. Basic concepts of microbiology with emphasis on microbial pathogenesis and immunity. Medically important microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, viruses, rickettsia, protozoa, and the diseases which they produce. - Nursing 210 – Life Span Growth & Development: The study of human growth and development from a lifespan perspective, emphasizing the evolution of the whole individual. Topics covered include digestion, and functions of macro and micronutrients as well as current recommendations for nutrient intake. We will also discuss energy balance and weight control. 4 credits. - Nutrition 230: Basic Nutrition Basic principles of human nutrition. Energy needs.
