About
Dr. Celeste Surreira, DNP, FNP-BC, is a clinical assistant professor and director of undergraduate programs at the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing.
She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, leveraging her extensive experience in enhancing health systems and care delivery. Dr. Surreira chairs the Primary Care Committee for the Cardiovascular and Stroke Nursing and Quality and Outcomes Research Councils of the American Heart Association, focusing on improving primary care outcomes. She is also actively involved in state, regional, and national committees related to nursing practice and education, including serving as vice president from UMass for the Beta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
As a certified fitness and yoga instructor, she incorporates wellness and obesity management into her practice. Her research interests include nursing education, women’s health, and health system improvements. Dr. Surreira has presented locally, nationally, and internationally on topics such as emergency care, health equity, and diverse representation in nursing simulations.
