CIE awards endowed fellowship to Promise Mchenga

The College of Education’s Center for International Education (CIE) recently awarded an endowed fellowship to Promise Mchenga, a student from Lilongwe in Malawi, who is earning a master’s degree in international education. Promise has experience working with NGSs that serve youth in both Malawi and in the U.S.

The CIE endowment supports international graduate students who demonstrate commitment to professional careers in education and development. Mchenga, who has worked with local and international organizations that seek to improve access to education for needy students, said that the fellowship will help him “gain skills in doing research and working on research-informed projects that contribute to international development through equitable access to education.” Read more about Promise at:
