The online AS in sustainable food and farming is designed for those who wish to explore careers in sustainable agriculture at their own pace without having to take classes on campus. The program is ideal for working adults who want to change their career to focus more on sustainable food systems and farming.

Our program gives you the flexibility to design a personalized program of study to suit your interests and career goals. You’ll be able to focus on topics such as production and marketing, agricultural education, public policy, advocacy, and community development.

You can earn your degree in as little as two years, but you can also take your time, completing courses when your schedule allows.

If you want to continue your studies after earning your AS degree, the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMass Amherst also offers an online BS in sustainable food and farming (in addition to an on-campus version of the program).
