Can People Educate Themselves Out of Unemployment and Poverty?
Jeannette Wicks-Lim MA '04, PhD '05 (economics) of the Political Economy Research Institute on campus discusses her study that shows about two-thirds of new jobs being created in the U.S. require only a high-school education or less. This means that workers who are earning college degrees may be setting themselves up to be highly educated, but low-wage workers.
