Michael Westort

I started as an Academic Advisor at the Honors College in 2016. I especially enjoy working with/advising transfer students and non-traditional students, as I was a non-traditional student myself. Prior to my position at the CHC, I was the education and outreach supervisor at the UMass NSF NSEC (National Science Foundation Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center) located in the UMass Lederle Graduate Research Tower. There, I was the primary advisor for Ph.D. students connected with the NSEC and also managed the Integrative Graduate Research Traineeship (IGERT). Throughout my 20+ years as an education professional, I have always served as a student advisor and find it very rewarding.

Interests: Outdoor sports and recreation; family time; walks in the countryside
