* Participate in our networking "roundtables" and meet reps from the Joslin Diabetes Center, HealthFitness Corporation, the Human Services Management Corporation, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and other organizations as they share tips on networking, hiring practices, and much more.
* Strengthen your alumni network. Exchange advice and insight on careers and career paths with other alums while you expand your list of contacts.

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences welcomes 11 new full-time tenure and non-tenure track faculty members into its ranks this academic year. They join seven new hires added during the previous academic year. New faculty hires in 2013-2014 include: Dr. Julia Choi, Dr. John Sirard, and Thomas St. Laurent (Kinesiology), Dr. Lindiwe Sibeko (Nutrition), Dr. Louis Graham, Dr. Nicholas Reich, Dr. Alexander Suvorov, Dr. Laura Vandenberg, Dr. Rachel Volberg, Dr. Jennifer Whitehill and Dr. Ning Zhang (Public Health).

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences recently hosted its 4th annual SPHHS Fall Celebration on the UMass Amherst campus. The event provided our alumni, students, and faculty with an opportunity to connect with each other, as well as provide a chance to honor the late Priscilla Clarkson; celebrate with alumnus Paul Litchfield, MS '86, this year's recipient of the SPHHS Award for Significant Contributions to the field of public health and health sciences; and listen to highlights from our students. Team SPHHS participates in Revolution Run Homecoming 5K
The School of Public Health and Health Sciences fielded a team of students, staff, and alumni for the UMass Amherst Revolution Run Homecoming 5K. The racers enjoyed terrific weather and a scenic course across the UMass Amherst campus. Alumna Maria Urso, Ph.D. '06, took home the first-prize trophy in the overall women's category.
Boston Magazine recently featured an interview with Public Health alumna Eliza Shirazi, '13. Shirazi has started teaching kickboxing courses in the Boston area, building upon a class she started at UMass called 'Kick It With Eliza.'
