The Western Massachusetts Public Health Association (WMPHA) will present a seminar on health dangers associated with mosquitoes and severe weather. Speakers include:
Dr. Catherine Brown DVM, from the MA Epidemiology Program: will cover basics of surveillance in mosquitoes, animals and humans, epidemiology of the diseases, how risk is assigned and then what the recommended public health actions are for each risk level
Lee Corte-Real from the MA Pesticide Bureau: will cover functions of his agency and mosquito control plus
Glenn Field from the National Weather Service: has been the Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) for the National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office in Taunton, MA since October, 1993. As WCM, he is responsible for ensuring that customers of weather forecasts and warnings are able to receive the products and that they understand what they mean
