Public Health Sciences major Nora Ani Cameron has been selected to participate in the Summer 2017 Civil Liberties & Public Policy (CLPP) internship program at Hampshire College. She joins a cohort of 25 students chosen from a pool of over 700 applicants from across the country. Cameron will intern this summer at National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF) in Boston, MA.
CLPP’s summer internship program, the Reproductive Rights Activist Service Corps (RRASC), began in 1999. The program places undergraduate students at paid internships at reproductive rights and social justice organizations across the country. Headquartered at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, CLPP works to inspire, educate, train and support new activists and leadership to secure reproductive freedom, justice and sexual rights for everyone.
“I am grateful to CLPP and the RRASC program for allowing me this amazing opportunity to take part in an internship where I am not only given a great career building experience, but also a paid summer job,” says Cameron.
“This internship allows me to become engaged with the reproductive justice community and to find out what it truly means to be in the field of abortion funding work,” states Cameron. “I have been given the support to take initiative in the programs, campaigns, and working groups that I'm passionate about at NNAF. Experienced and inspiring organizers have offered me great skill building tips that will lay a strong foundation for my academic and professional future—as well as my current activism work here on the UMass Amherst campus.”
