The UMass Amherst Elaine Marieb College of Nursing (EMCON) together with the School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) is proud to offer a Graduate Certificate in Population Health for Health Professionals. The certificate provides students with the opportunity to gain skills in both public health and nursing in one credential. The fully online/asynchronous certificate is aimed at:
a) working nursing professionals who strive to gain professional skills needed to advance their careers in public health.
b) health care professionals or public health professionals outside of nursing, looking to enhance skills.
c) previously admitted Doctor Nurse Practitioner (DNP) students who want to earn a public health credential along with the doctoral degree
d) nurses or professionals who are considering a Doctor of Nursing Practice or Master of Public Health degree program.

UMass Amherst’s Population Health graduate certificate is fully online, with asynchronous courses that let you log in whenever it’s convenient for you. Busy schedule? Take as few as one course per term (or as many as three when your schedule opens). Need a semester off? You can pause at any time.
Transfer credits to the MPH or DNP Program
Up to 15 credits of coursework will transfer into either the MPH in Public Health Practice or the Doctor Nurse Practitioner DNP programs with UMass Amherst.
