Employee Accommodations and Absence Support
The Employee Accommodations and Absence Support team assists UMass Amherst employees by providing guidance and assistance for workplace accommodations, leave programs, and other adjustments.
Submission of Request
- Employees must complete the Reasonable Accommodation Request Form (PDF) via the AskHR.
- Upon receipt, HR will provide acknowledgment and instructions, including a secure OneDrive link for submitting medical documentation.
- HR keeps all medical documentation confidential in accordance with university policy and federal law.

Service Animal and Assistance Animal Policy
The University supports the use of service and assistance animals on campus in compliance with applicable federal and state laws. At the same time, it recognizes the health and safety risks potentially created by unrestrained animals on campus.
The Service Animal and Assistance Animal Policy sets forth roles and responsibilities of individuals bringing animals on campus.
