New Testament WorthiesThese notes, slightly expanded from the Calendar page in the Alpha Christianity Section, are meant as a collective gesture of gratitude to some of the figures in New Testament studies whose work, or part of it, seems to endure, and to be fruitful in the present century. For detailed accounts of some of these and many other figures of note, the beginner may to consult the three volumes by William Baird, History of New Testament Research, a lifework in itself, and a blessing to all the rest of us.
