Devin Day recently graduated from the University of Missouri with both an M.A. and Ph.D. in English Literature with a focus on Contemporary American novels. His dissertation studied literary novelists who adopted the forms of popular genres in order to represent and critique the conditions of capitalism emerging during and after the Great Recession. Day has taught a variety of courses, including first-year writing, Writing About Literature, and the American Literature Survey. Additionally, Day has worked as both a tutor and administrator at the University of Missouri’s Writing Center. Day currently teaches College Writing, our first-year writing course, and serves as a staff member of UMass’s Writing Center.
