Aaron Tillman
Associate Director and Senior Lecturer
Aaron Tillman (he/him) is an Associate Director, Senior Lecturer, Graduate Course Director, and a Flexible Learning Fellow at UMass. As a Writing instructor, he specializes in flexible and inclusive course design, multimodal composition, and the intersections between creative writing and writing studies. His short story collection, Consolation Miracles, was published by Gateway Literary Press in 2022; his book of critical nonfiction, Magical American Jew, was published by Lexington Books in 2018, and his short story collection, Every Single Bone in My Brain, was published by Braddock Avenue Books in 2017. Aaron won the 2022 Gival Press Short Story Award, the 2018 John Gardner Memorial Prize in Fiction from Harpur Palate, a Short Story Award for New Writers from Glimmer Train Stories, and his work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.
