I draw realistic images in pencil or colored pencil, mostly of animals or plants. I prefer doing portraits of the animals I draw. I often work from my own photos when drawing animals, and when drawing plants I work from life. I have an educational background in animal science and also have spent most of my life on a farm working with cattle, horses, sheep, chickens and growing crops. For me, drawing is the process of learning all about a subject, and when finished I hopefully get others to see the innate beauty or the personality of my subjects.
