Facilities and Campus Services Career Ladder
The Facilities and Campus Services and AFSCME local 1776 Career Ladder was launched in 2018. We began the effort with a comprehensive workforce needs assessment to better understand the strengths of the custodial team as well as the challenges. The custodial workforce has grown to more than 400 team members who play a critical role in keeping the campus safe and clean for the thousands of students, staff and faculty who live and work here.
The goals of the Career Ladder include
- Creating a positive work climate where employees feel valued for their work,
- Creating transparent, fair and effective processes and tools for advancement
- Recruiting, hiring and sustaining high performing employees,
- Increasing the diversity in the higher ranks of the workforce, and
- Delivering outstanding customer service.
