On March 13 2024, the Jail Education Initiative in partnership with the Department of WGSS hosted a film screening and talkback with Lebanese filmmaker-director-theater practitioner Zeina Daccache (zooming in from Beirut).
The film, Scheherazade’s Diary (2013), features a theater production that was created and performed by women incarcerated in Baabda Prison in Lebanon. After a screening of the film, Zeina joined us to talk about her work. The event concluded with a vibrant audience Q&A and discussion.
