Margaret is the Director for Workplace Learning & Development. She has extensive experience in the design and facilitation of workshops and seminars for public sector employees and organizations, with particular emphasis on: supervisory leadership development, diversity issues, teambuilding, organizational skills, respectful workplace, managing in a unionized contexts, and customer service. She has a strong organizational development background in strategic planning, facilitated retreats, organizational problem-solving, and developmental coaching of supervisors and managers.

Gerald is currently in a doctoral program at the UMASS School of Education. He became a member of the Workplace Learning & Development team in September 2010.
Van Kehler is the Office Manager for Workplace Learning & Development. She is also responsible for developing and maintaining the WLD Website, and helping to organize the workshops. Van has lived in many states throughout the U.S., settling in Massachusetts in 1987. She is both a graduate and a 29+ year employee of UMass.
Paul Papierski joins the Workplace Learning and Development team as its newest Employee and Organizational Development Specialist. He brings an extensive background in employee and manager development, performance improvement, coaching employees and facilitating programs. He has worked in the Learning and Development area for over 15 years.
He previously worked in a large national nonprofit as well as various Massachusetts municipalities and state agencies during the course of his career. He holds a MA in International and Intercultural Management with a Human Resource Management focus.

Melissa has over 20 years of experience working in higher education with an emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and social justice. She possesses a strong background in facilitation, workshop design, management and supervision, and inclusive practices. Melissa is a certified practitioner for administering the Myers Brigg Type Indicator® and is a certified coach through CoachDiversity Institute. She holds a MA in International & Intercultural Management and is a visual artist working in painting.
