Workplace Learning and Development staff are available to assist managers and supervisors with a wide range of supervisory concerns. We can help with assessments, troubleshooting, disciplinary guidance, reward and recognition programs, process improvement models, employee services information, policy information, and communication needs.
WL&D provides a wide range of services to enhance the performance and effectiveness of individuals, work groups and organizations. Examples of services we provide to University departments include: strategic planning, individual or organizational needs assessment, respectful workplace design, workstyle management, work team development, effective meeting strategies, role clarification, supervisory coaching and development, communication improvement, and conflict resolution services.
Consultation is available to advise managers and supervisors on methods for ongoing performance improvement, including ways to: support professional development, handle disciplinary issues, and create individual performance management plans to support performance improvement.
Individualized coaching is available to help managers and supervisors identify and attain goals to support workplace effectiveness. Coaching can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual, and may include an analysis of management approach, communication skills, conflict style, and skill development in supervisory and management practices.
