A consultant from WLD can help review existing training materials you may have and develop new instructional materials to assist employees in their learning and understanding of simple and complex processes. A member of WLD works closely with the subject matter expert(s) to design instructional materials that are easy to follow, accurate and concise. Instructional formats may include job aids, Canvas courses, and videos.

Employees and supervisors can seek guidance from a WLD Consultant for problem-solving or trouble-shooting a current workplace or employee challenge. With extensive experience in the UMass Amherst unionized environment and a deep understanding of human resources procedures and systems, our consultants are well-equipped to assist.

Why would I contact WLD? 

  • Employee/Supervisor is looking for straightforward guidance to address a current workplace or employee challenge. 
  • Employee/Supervisor is seeking personalized attention for their professional development and growth. 

How much of my time is involved? 

  • One time conversation usually by phone/virtual call (lasting 10 – 60 minutes) 
  • At least two 50-minute sessions 

What costs are associated with this? 

  • No cost for a one-time consultation.
  • If more time is needed for consultation on a specific issue, then fee will be applied at discretion of the WLD Consultant. Fees would be charged to employee’s department or organization. 
  • No cost for first two sessions (sessions must take place over a 6 week period). The WLD Coach will discuss with the employee in the first session a timeline that would best meet the employee’s needs.
  • Ongoing coaching services beyond the initial two sessions have associated fees; costs would be charged to the employee's department or organization. For details on current fees, please contact WLD.

How do I make this happen? 

     Two options:

  • Call WLD office (413-545-1787) and ask to speak with available consultant (if no one is available, then your request will be shared with a consultant for a timely response). 
  • Complete our Inquiry for WLD Assistance form and a consultant will then reach out to you.  
  • We highly recommend that you speak with your supervisor about your needs for seeking coaching and if release time and/or funds are available.
