Claudia Cressotti

Claudia has interned at the Zoo in Forest Park in Springfield, MA as an animal caregiver. She has also interned at the Riverbend Animal Hospital in Hadley, MA as a surgical intern. She was accepted into the Tufts Wildlife Clinic Volunteer Program for the summer of 2020 but given the COVID-19 situation, the program may be cancelled. Claudia was a teaching assistant for the Poultry Management course for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.
Claudia’s interests include: gardening, baking sourdough bread, and fostering cats for Dakin Humane Society located in Springfield, Massachusetts. During her time as a foster, she has provided a safe and caring environment for homeless cats until it is time for the cats to enter the adoption facility. She also provided medication to the cats suffering from illnesses.
Claudia is a member of the Commonwealth Honors College. She has received the John & Abigail Adams Scholarship and is the VASCI 2020 recipient of the William F. Field Alumni Scholar Award which honors third-year students for their academic achievements at UMass Amherst.
Claudia plans to attend Veterinary Medical School following her undergraduate studies, Tufts is her top choice. She would like to specialize in small animal surgery and open a practice of her own some day.
