The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is pleased to welcome Dr. Brown as a member of the Veterinary Technology faculty.
Weston Brown DVM grew up in Western Massachusetts raising and showing dairy goats in both 4-H and the American Dairy Goat Association. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science, Dr. Brown received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2016. Following graduation, he worked in Harmony, Minnesota at a mixed animal practice for one year. In 2017 Dr. Brown returned to New England to continuing practicing mixed animal medicine at Fenton River Veterinary Hospital in Tolland, Connecticut.
Dr. Brown enjoys working with all species, he has a special interest in camelids, small ruminants, and donkeys. He has spent much of his career working with and researching these species, including being a former licensed American Dairy Goat Association judge. Dr. Brown, his wife, and newborn son manage their hobby farm where they take care of donkeys, alpacas, chickens, rabbits, and goats.
Dr. Brown is excited to bring his skills to his alma mater as a proud graduate and help students become part of the veterinary community as Certified Veterinary Technicians.
Dr. Brown will be teaching Veterinary Clinical Nursing I, Clinical Animal Behavior, and Vertebrate Anatomy & Physiology I and II.
