The VASCI Climate Advisory Committee challenged VASCI folks to a Coin War to raise funds for the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center.

As a group, we, VASCI students, faculty members, staff, and post-doc.s raised just over $390 for the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center.  This is an outstanding total for a coin war!

The winning team is.... the S-O-P-H-O-M-O-R-E-S!

The Freshmen Team and the Team composed of Grad Students, Post-Docs, Staff, & Faculty were neck-and-neck all semester, but the Sophomores swooped in with jars of quarters during the Bay State Livestock Classic to bury the competition.

THANK YOU to all the participants!  We have a very special and caring department.

Special thanks for setting out the jars and counting coins to the VASCI Peer Advisors, Pre-Vet/AnSci Club Leaders, Leaders of the Student Chapter of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians, Beltie Students, and members of the VASCI Climate Advisory Committee.

The coins and paper money will be donated to the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center, which rescues 125 to 150 birds (hawks, owls, falcons, eagles, and vultures) per year.
