Congratulations to the UMass Student Affiliate chapter of the American Dairy Science Association (also known as the UMass NESA Animal Science Club) for the incredible achievement of the 3rd Place Overall Institution at the regional meeting and competition at the University of Connecticut on February 28.
A total of 160 students representing 40 teams from 8 institutions competed in
a Quiz Bowl, in Animal Science Presentations, in Original Research Presentations,
and in the Judging of Holstein cows, Morgan horses, Dorset ewes, Angus heifers,
Wool fleeces, and Connecticut Broadleaf Tobacco.
Special achievements for UMass included freshman Allie Ross (Team F)
placing 7 in Livestock Judging (out of 160 competitors), and UMass Teams
B, D, and E making it to the Quarterfinals of the Quiz Bowl! Well done!
