Van is an undergraduate student at UMass Amherst pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Van is also a member of the Developmental Disabilities and Human Services program. As a pre-medical student, she is passionate about becoming an Obstetrician/Gynecologist and is particularly interested in conducting research related to breast cancer.
Van has served as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Biology courses and as a peer leader for General Chemistry. In May 2023, she received the Outstanding Teaching Assistant award for her contributions to the learning environment. Currently, Van is involved in the New Moms Wellness Study, exploring the association between fruit and vegetable intake and the risk of breast cancer among postpartum women. Van's research interests lie in improving breast cancer prevention; she plans to pursue further education and training in order to contribute to women's health as a future Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
